About Enca Restaurant

If you are exploring good food spots in Batu Ferringhi, Enca Restaurant is one place that easily grabs attention. Located opposite the Bayview Hotel, this North Indian restaurant has become a comfortable stop for travelers and locals who enjoy rich flavors, warm spices, and freshly prepared meals. The atmosphere feels relaxed and welcoming, especially for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Indian food near the beach area without dealing with an overly formal dining setup.

One thing I noticed about Enca Restaurant is how convenient the overall experience feels. Whether someone prefers dine-in service, outdoor seating, takeaway, or even delivery, the restaurant offers flexible options that fit different situations. Visitors who want a quick lunch after sightseeing can stop by for a fast bite, while families often settle in for a longer dinner with several dishes shared across the table. The outdoor seating area also adds a nice touch during the evening when Batu Ferringhi becomes cooler and more lively.

The menu at Enca Restaurant focuses heavily on classic North Indian flavors. You can expect aromatic curries, soft naan, flavorful rice dishes, and a good variety of vegetarian options. The restaurant also serves coffee, small plates, and beverages including beer and alcohol, which gives diners more choices when relaxing with friends or family. The portions are satisfying, and many dishes carry the kind of homemade flavor that makes people return for another visit.

Another reason why Enca Restaurant stands out is its location. Since it sits in a busy tourist-friendly part of Pulau Pinang, it is easy to find after spending time at nearby beaches, hotels, or local attractions. The casual environment, combined with friendly service and comforting North Indian food, creates a dining experience that feels approachable for both first-time visitors and regular customers searching for familiar flavors in Batu Ferringhi.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Batu Ferringhi & I highly recommend it for the incredible food, kind service, and tropical atmosphere! These pictures are across multiple meals, from 2019 all the way to present day :) At Enca Restaurant they have delicious North Indian, Malay, Chinese and Western dishes & everything that I have eaten has been very very good. I can highly recommend all the dishes pictured, but my absolute favorite ones were the chicken satay, tandoori chicken set, garlic naan & butter chicken, lamb curry, and penne arrabbiatta. The chicken satay was juicy, perfectly marinated and comes with a nutty/sweet peanut sauce with cucumbers and onions on the side - a perfect appetizer! The tandoori chicken set is such great value for the money - the chicken is really tender and has a nice, smoky char to it, pairing perfectly with the mint chutney and buttery naan...you get a small side of daal as well! The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and tomatoey - the perfect vessel to dip your soft, garlicky naan in :) The penne arrabbiatta was my main dish when craving western food - the sauce is packed with tomatoes/garlic and had a nice spicy kick from the red chiles in it. It also pairs very well with garlic naan! They also have amazing juices that are perfect for cooling off in the Malay heat - some of my favorites were the green apple & watermelon! What stands out most to me is the super friendly and nice owner (pictured in the blue T shirt). I had visited many times in 2019 while volunteering at a local animal shelter (Cat Beach Sanctuary in Teluk Bahang - go visit there as well and support a great cause!!!)...fast forward to 2023 when I visited and the owner REMEMBERED me. I am still shocked that he could remember me as it had been four years, it made me feel like I was truly at home! I then returned at the end of 2025 and not only did he remember me again after two years, but he commented on the fact that I had lost a lot of weight as I had been on a health journey that past two years. It was so very kind and thoughtful of him and another reason (apart from the fresh, delicious food) why I simply love this place. I really enjoy visiting every time I am back in Batu Ferringhi, and can't wait to return to the beautiful island of Penang soon. Very grateful to the owner and the kind staff who work at this amazing restaurant, cooking some of the best food on the island. 5 stars all around & I highly highly recommend it! :)

The first time I went I had a chicken tandoori and chicken spray which great. Then I had fish and chips and mango salad. Also had hummus and a lemon shake and a fresh coconut it was all good and food came fast.

Didn't have a plan on what or where to eat as just arrived the night before. Walking fairly far from where we were staying Enca caught our eye. Glad we decided to try. Great food and friendly staff. Also really enjoyed my refreshing vanilla shake.
